For you, what evidence is convincing that an afterlife (i.e., life after death) exists or doesn't exist?

Please be as specific as you can.

There is no evidence for it, so I don't believe there is.

If I saw evidence for it, I would consider that evidence and change my position if appropriate.

(No, Bronze Age myths are not evidence.)

I don't have any evidence of life after death but I do have evidence that there is more out there than what meets the eye. First, yes, if life after death, or past lives or the soul didn't exist, then there would be no way of comprehending them. Also, so things that are tangible and exists don't make sense, For instance, a mirror. Think of how it works. Light from a source leaves the source, bounces off you and millions of other objects randomly. Somehow, the records what it has hit and when it hits the mirror, it places the Information in an orderly mosaic. Also, we have a picture of an event that we transmit over airwaves that are invisible only to have the image appear perfectly on a receiver on the other end. Also, the Philadelphia Experiment, where did the boat vanish to? Trust me, there's more out there than we know.

I think you'll get more answers in the "Science and Mathematics/Alternative/Paranormal Phenomena" section.

Here, you'll just get the typical middle-america evangelical youth group dogma.

I personally believe that when we're gone, we're gone, just like everything else. We are not special.

Light does not go anywhere once the bulb is turned off, either. It dissipates and scatters and is obliterated. This is natural and I have no problem with the idea.

For me there is none but I HOPE there's reincarnation. That would be cool.

@ Miyah, that's evidence that life is random, humans have a complex brains that interpret things differently from each other and that sometimes, some humans are just 'lucky'.

Personal experiences tell me that there is a spiritual realm among us that, from time to time, interacts with the environment around us. I'm not confident enough to say what it is the interacts with us, or why, but it is there, and I think that has a good implication that there is a way for our spirits to get to that realm.

i believe when i die i'll either get reincarnated or my soul will die out with my body. i believe in reincarnation cause of a lifetime movie i saw about a woman in ireland who died in childbirth and came back as another red head lady in america. before she died she said to one of the kids remember ur promise to keep the family together. and in her next life she had these visions of her past life when her name was mary. i hope i get reincarnated the idea of eternal sleep is to me quite scary. i'll be history.

    1. Jesus raised at least people from the dead. They lived out their lives and died again.

    2. Jesus raised from the dead and there were more than 3,000 eye witnesses to this.

    3. When I worked on the CODE BLUE team many times the people we revived and "saved" were angry and said "Why did you do this- don't you know where I was?"

    4. Nest time you go to a funeral- look at the face of the deceased- if it looks peaceful they are heaven- if it looks they are still in pain- it is because they are.

Source(s): Thanks for the thumbs downs- the more i get from non believers the more blessings i get form God! Bring em on!

Well, I have to say I'm with "frail child of dust" here. if it pretty much says so in a book then it's good enough for me. Especially if that book is old.

Well I'm not taking any chances. I know that God and Jesus have prepared a place for us in Heaven and I want to make sure I claim my spot.
