Eczema what's causing it and how do I get rid of it?

For the last couple of months I've been getting little flare ups of eczema in the crooks of my elbows. I'm a 19 year old girl, I've never had it before and I can't fathom why I am getting it now.

The crooks of your elbows is a very common place to get eczema. My daughter gets it there as well as behind her knees and at her ankles and wrists. Unfortunately, the exact cause of eczema is unknown, but you can try to figure out what causes your flare ups. For my daughter, hydrocortizone helped to make her rash go away, then I applied eucerin all over to keep her skin moisturized. I also started washing all her clothes and bedding with a detergent made for sensitive skin, like Dryel.

As Lily Ryan just said you can try to figure out what causes your flare ups. That way you will know how to keep control on your eczema.

"It is important to know that eczema is not contagious but it is mostly regarded as hereditary. However, eczema is more likely to disappear when it is treated from the inside by using natural eczema remedies."

My daughter gets the same thing in the very same area of her body. Your body's own immune system is attacking the area. the trick is keeping the area cool and avoid harsh soaps or soaps with a lot of perfume added. Use a Ice pack on your arms when you have a flare up and as soon as you get out of the shower you should use a good lotion, I purchased Gold Bonds medicated anti itch lotion. It comes in a green bottle. You can also take a dose of benedryl.
