what's the name and director of the horror movie..?

Question

this is a really dumb question since I don't know anything. I read an article once about a really good director who recently (at the time of the article) directed a horror film. it was a bit more of a drama sort of horror, not like with too much blood and gore and all. it was about a little girl who died in a horrible way I'm fairly sure, and she "comes back" to help her family go through the grief.... I think...
it's from 2004 or 2006. 
that's really all I remember, hope someone's got a better memory than myself...
if you do remember would you tell me the title and the name of the (male) director?

Could it have been a boy that died. Then my suggestion is "Godsend" (2004) Directed by Nick Hamm. Starring Greg Kinnear and Rebecca Romijn as the parents and Robert de Niro as the Doctor who brings there son back to life by genetic cloning. 

A couple agree to have their deceased son cloned after he dies in a freak accident, under the supervision of an enigmatic doctor but bizarre things start to happen years after his rebirth. Horror, thriller drama.
