Is there any particular military branch that you dislike?

Most of us know that each branch has their piece of the pie when it comes to combat operations, whether it's the Marines, the Air Force, the Navy, or the Army. But I've seen a few people here who are either in right now or who served in the past that blatantly hate other branches or a specific branch, and act like they're full of dirt bags insulting them every chance they get. We know there is pride when you say you're the best but when you take it a step further and say branch A doesn't deserve to wear a uniform and should be disbanded then it falls out of a friendly rivalry and goes towards what 13-year olds who's military experience is on Call of Duty would probably say. What made you feel the way you do? Personally I have no issues with and support anybody who raised their right hand and swore to support and defend the Constitution but it seems like everybody doesn't agree.

*This is specifically meant for people who are currently serving right now and veterans who already served in the past, this isn't meant for people who never served before or are just in the DEP although you can share your opinion.

I don't know if this is the real AD but I'll answer anyway. I feel the same way about each branch. They all work for the same mission.

I defiantly do not like the Army. I say that because I work at a MEPS station and the Army is the only branch that I have consistent problems receiving properly filled out paperwork from. That and most Army applicants have hard times actually following simple directions and usually have the worst attitudes.

That being said, while I was on active duty, esp. while I was on med hold, I hated the Air Force. Mainly because I was held at one of their med facilities after their airmen screwed up a load and I had a pallet crush my legs forcing medical retirement and a complete turn around for my long term goals. Kinda hard to do twenty when you are permanently disabled after 6 years.

I'm am just a Navy depper, and I know this question really isn't for me. I joined the Navy for a few reasons, but mainly because of a family history to the Navy. For one to hate other branches is just plain dumb. One of my best friends was in the Army and did two tours in Iraq, and still won't (or can't) speak of some of the things he saw. I have just as much respect for him as I do my grandfather who is retired Navy. He and I have a little fun jabbing back and forth at each others favorite branch, but there is no dislike. I haven't yet experienced putting on that uniform, but I soon will, and I have nothing but the most respect for ALL that do.

There is a branch that I like more than the others and that is the one I spent six years of my life in and it is the USMC. I do not dislike any branch of the military. I do like to kid around with them from time to time though. In the end you are correct each branch serves its purpose and I would be willing to say that each branch is stronger because of the others.

For someone to say that one branch does not deserve to wear a uniform is the height of insanity. Anyone that is willing to make a contribution to the defense of our nation no matter how big or how small his role might be deserves respect.

I have never heard anyone say the things you describe though. Oh and I do love to pick on a squid sometimes.

When I was in the Navy....

Sometimes I hated the Marines because, well they are Marines. :) I was around a lot of Marines...but usually they are cool to the Corpsmen. I can't say too much bad about them.

Sometimes I hated the Army, but it was because I met some jerk that day who said something stupid or tried to correct me on the wearing of a Navy uniform with out having a clue.

***I've noticed that Army dudes think that Army Regs applies to all services....AR12345***** says this or that...but they never heard of OPNAVINST that says something different.

Sometimes I hated the Air Force, because they had a General who needed a blood test to be done for his physical. I had to come in on a saturday morning and open the medical clinic for one general. I bet it was his own staff who did it....The Air Force medics were late picking him up.

But, I bet the Air Force hated me back the day my ambulance broke down on the runway of a medivac and it had to be pushed out of the way to get the plane in the air, with a Navy patient.

There is always something stupid that happens that makes us scratch our heads and wonder how the other side exists at all...but in the end we all have a story to tell and what didn't kill us only made us stronger.

My fellow brothers and sisters at arms...I am sending you my love.

No. I was lucky enough to get into a Navy career field that did its training on an Air Force base with Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and even some Army. We even had Air Guard in our classes. It was a great experience and I gained a lot of respect for my classmates.

The only thing that annoyed me to no end was the obsession of some Air Force classmates with getting an assignment as close as humanly possibly to their hometown while I was begging for a 7th Fleet ship homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.

I do find the attitudes of some ROTC, and even a few academy students, need to be adjusted. I've got more time standing in line for chow than they do out in the world dealing with reality of military service. Thankfully they'll get their attitude adjusted by a Senior NCO once they become bouncing, baby junior officers.

There is a lot of banter between the forces, BUT if you are not military and you piss on any of my comrades in arms, I am going to be right beside him to kick your butt, even if you are telling him My branch is better.

Personally I am not a fan of the Army, I just do not like the way it is run. They are a good branch, and they have their place, but I know that I would not enjoy life there.

I do, however, have a history in my family of Air Force, Army Air Corps, and Navy.

Its generally a sense of pride that has gone to far, I of course love the Marine Corps, and have a distaste for the Army because I think they are disgusting for the most part, however they do have good parts about them. This is something that has gone on and will go on forever, some people may have been wronged by a certain branch or others, like myself just find other branches bad when soldiers, sailors or whatever walk around like total dirtbags when Marines are held to a higher standard.

I am a Marine. I talk a lot of **** about the other branches. But overall I respect every single one of them, because like you said. They swore to protect the Constitution like me and risk there lives as well.

I'm in the Army and I dislike the Air Force very much so. Don't care much for Marines they're fine as long as they don't go all gung ho on me and say they're the best because they shoot a target that stands still. Navy is lazy much like the Air Force. And the Army seem to be the only ones that get **** done. I remember having to dig a hole on an Air Force base with my Army buddies because the Air Force personnel refused to leave their air conditioned room. It's just sad. Marines are okay with me as long as they don't try that stupid we're better than you ****. Because they aren't. I mainly dislike Marine Battle Commanders. they are retarded and the most gung ho of all. They are killing those men because of their own crazy ideologies. I feel bad for them. In my eyes the Army is the only way to go, unless you have children then go anywhere you want because I can understand not wanting to go to a battlefield. But you can always join the Army and get a non-combat position.
