I completely understand what you mean, and it doesn't even matter how much older you get I'm twenty years old and anytime I say anything people act as if it's ten times worse then what the person said to me. Just because they consider me a child (which is ridiculous I'm almost legal) if i call someone on there bs it's like I just shot them or something. One of my family members was drunk and put down someone close to me and was being soooo disrespectful it was ridiculous. I said something back that was actually less then he said and my whole extended family (everyone but my intermediate) said I was wrong and I was trying to break up the family. Then they started making things up about me when I've done nothing wrong and even when I was proven right and justified.. I didn't even get an apology I was expected to drop it and play nice whereas you know if it had been reversed I would have to kiss a-ss up and down... It's ridiculous that because of our age no one gives us any respect... so I totally feel you it's hypocritical and wrong... So just hang in there and remember that there is a whole generation of us going through similar situation's and it's so freaking frustrating, and hypocritical... If you ever need to talk feel free to email I'm a good listener and don't mind hearing people vent..
