How to eliminate phone static caused by wireless internet?

I have DSL through the phone company. I have filters on all my phone jacks. Periodically the phones get really staticky. If I disconnect the wireless internet adaptor it goes away, but then no wireless internet... With my old computer I could restart the modem and it would go away (thereby showing that the filters are not defective, which is the only suggestion I get from the phone company.)It would come back after a month or so. My new computer doesn't have the "restart modem" option. It's getting truly annoying. One of our two phones doesn't work at all right now. What can I do to get rid of the static? I'm wondering if I just should get a new wireless adaptor....

Update:

This has been going on, in this instance, for over a week, during which time I have done numerous shutdowns. It didn't do anything. Also if I unplug the DSL, it goes away but comes back as soon as it's plugged back in....

You may want to turn off your computer, or disconnect the Internet temporarily.

You mean a cordless telephone? definite. instantaneous b and g use 2.4GHz so if your telephone is two.4GHz too, there will be interference. To scientific care that, you should return the telephone and get a 5GHz telephone.
