Dear Rustyfan,
I would check with your vet. I'm sure they will be able to guide you. I have only house cats and have never had to use a flea/tick product except once when we adopted a cat and they ame with her. Products such as Advantage hadn't been developed way back then. I'm sure a chemical wouldn't be the best thing for a nursing mother since everything gets into her milk. Hope this will help, but call a vet to be sure.
