Getting a Passport in Canada/US?
My Mother and I are going to be moving to Europe very soon. I'm a Canadian citizen but my Mom is an American citizen who has residence here. Neither of us have a passport right now, and I'm not sure what is required to obtain one. Since getting dual citizenship (Canadian) for my Mom will take too long, does this mean we will have to get our passports separate from each other (one Canadian, one American)? That's the first question. Second, I'm going to be getting my Canadian birth certificate and my SIN card, as well. However my Mom only has a COPY of her American birth certificate (again, what is required to get a passport?). I've looked online on how to get a replacement, and can't find any information about that.
Can someone help us on what we should be doing?

Go read your respective passports offices for each country
Your mum may have to go to the vital statistics office from her birth state to get a new cert
then you need visas to enter the UK ..
ot the country in Europe you intend moving too
