Best thing to do is to ask him - see if you can manage to be alone on a semi-date (or a real one) for a cup of coffee, soda, lunch, whatever and steer the conversation to relationships in general and then to yours specifically.
Assuming you have enough confidence, risk telling him how you feel about him and what you want.
