Korean Drama: Theory?

I think I figured out something about Korean Dramas, especially romantic comedy/melodramas.

The more evil the antagonist, the better the drama. Liked You're Beautiful and My Girl, but Kim Tak Ku and Shining Inheritance make you want to scream at the bad guy/girl. It seems the harsher the main character is treated by the bad guy/girl, it makes me want to watch more and more, until I realize its freaking 3am, and I have to get up in 4 hrs!!

Exactly! You've got yourself ten points there. Believe it or not, its the eveil characters that determines the fame and social acceptance of the drama. The more evil, the better. I have to say its a sad thing playing with our emotions but thats just how it is. I mean, who wants to watch a drama with no plot? that kind would be boring. The more the suspense, the more the thrill and the more the thrill, the more fun.

Yes, shining inheritance has a good antagonist. In one way, she wasn't inherently evil, she just want herself and daughter to be comfortable but in so doing, she created nightmares for herself, lying lie after lie until she gets entangled into them and couldn't free herself, now, ain't that good? Another interesting twist is swallow the sun. The antogist turned out to be the protagonist father without him (antagonist) knowing it, to think that he'd put his own son to all those hardships.
