help understanding an old newspaper article?

I am doing a research paper on old newspaper articles and the meanings.

I have found a couple articles and one in particle I am having trouble understanding because of the wau it is written. IF you can help that would be great. Thank you.

Does yo' take this women for thy lawfully wedded wife? asked the colored parson, glancing at the diminitive, water-eyed, bow legged groom, who stood beside, two hundred and ren pounds of feminine assurance. 'Ah takes nothing, gloomily responded the bridesgroom. 'Ah's bein trapped,"

This si exzactly as the article is written there is not other explanation or write up around this article.

Update:

is there a significance to it being a colored parson?

Probably written by a white, to whom "coloured" was a novelty. If he/she had written about a white couple, the race wouldn't have been mentioned.

Or if it has been written by a "coloured" it wouldn't have been mentioned, either.

    hahahaha....

So the colored person asked the groom whether he wanted to take the woman as his wife. And the groom said that he has nothing to take because he is trapped.

Let me translate: A black man of the cloth marries a heavy woman to a small bandy legged man who feels shotgunned.
