  • buying a puppy have some questions?

My boyfriend and I have decided after quite some time we are ready to get a puppy. However we are moving Nov 1 in together into his larger home. I have found a puppy both myself and child like and would really like to adopt and take this little girl home. However my boyfriend feels we should wait until after my daughter and I have completed the move in.

I look at this like I woudl rather have this puppy at our house being loved then in a small kennel all day.

Does anyone have any input or references for this. Which would be better bring the puppy home now, or wait the 4 weeks until we have moved?

We are doing a slow transition move, so small things are moving in daily in hopes that in 6 weeks everything will be over and the change will not be so dramatic for my daughter or (the puppy )

    thank you

  • Have the times really changed that much 1925-2010?

I am hoping for some resources if possible for books, journals, publications etc.

    Im writing an argumentative essay

I was reading an article where the author's thesis stated that in the past 150 years times have changed between how his father, he and his son is raised. But really he speaks of how they had a modest house, 2 cars, mom never worked, vacation cottage and 2 seadoos, where as his son is being raise din a 5 bedroom 4 bath house that has 7 telephones and 2 cars and mom doesn't work.

seems to me that times are moving along right with the economy. When pop cost 5 cents to buy people lived in small houses where kids shared rooms and used bunk beds, mom didn't have to work, 1-2 vehicles. then pop costs 75 cents and homes have two bathrooms, mom may work or not, 1-2 vehicles, now days pop is 1.50 and we have 3-4 bathrooms, double car garages.

we make more money but that is because 'things' cost more, the standard of living has gone up.

If families have the money to be buying 5 bedroom 4 bath houses with 7 telephones how come so many people are in debt. If their charging everything why do we need these new toys. Is it really that science and technology is changing compared to peoples view of needs and wants

Any feedback, comments and any good articles you think may help me would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

  • What do you think of this newspaper article?

    The Quest

I am looking for a wife, sir.

Can you find me one today,

With a sort of homey set-up

And a bit of wifey way?

    For whereever I am roaming

    And I see a girl I know,

I have in mind a picture

    of a women mixing dough!

    The girls today are witty,

And I like their frank appeal,

    But somehow I always wonder

Could they make a descent meal?

    And back my fancy wanders

    To a kitchen long ago,

And a picture of my mother

As she stood there, mixing dough.

    Then I see alittle cottage

    With curtains blowing white,

    And my magazines and papers,

    And a room by evening light;

    And a little fellow coming

    With unsteady steps and slow,

And my wife says, “Take the baby,

For my hands are in the dough.”

Will the flapper fit my picture,

And when I come home at night,

Will I find this homey mixture

In the soft and yellow light?

Or will auto, movie, dance hall,

Be the way I have to go?

With no baby but to dance it

While the bakers mix the dough?

I am just a working fellow,

But somehow I hate to spare

This picture that for many years

    I've looked for one to share;

And I think I'll keep on looking,

    For I sort o' think I know

    I'd never be quite happy,

If wife couldnt mix the dough.

  • help disecting newspaper?

Im writing a report on a local newspaper in the early 1900's. and I am running out of ideas if you have any please share, thank you.

I have read hundreds of papers and these are some things I have written down and questions I have that should bring up more information for me.

lots of ads geared towards women for ailment medication such as headache, nausea, nerves, heart burn, etc. they all contain 'her' and 'she' words. the women in the ads are always long, lean and beautiful. if they have all these ailments how are they so beautiful. the comic strip at the bottom of the page in every edition however always contained a fat ungroomed missing tooth women.

I also seen alot of house appliance ads, of course showing this beautiful women in her dress with a smile from ear to ear, scrubbing clothes and using a wash basin, or on her hands and knees scrubbing the floors etc.

What is this saying about femininity?

why are most of the columns about what people did like mr and mrs smith are vacationing in vancouver and will return feb 10. or mrs value is returning to teaching at hale school. There are this colums every issue and the colum is quite long. I dont get it, the kids school marks were printed in the paper as well. seems really gossipy but they all also seem like their written by a male. but all of the authers and writers are only listed as first initial and last name. Why do they feel everyone should know this information? seems really gossipy.

  • Question about classical and romantic gender ideologies.?

I am working on a project that asks me to outline classical and romantic gender ideologies. Describe the similarities and how they differ. However I am finding contradictions (I think) between them. Sooo What I am hoping someone can help with this. Is classical the view that women are considered a lesser, inferior, damaged, or partial form of the true human, the male and romantic viewed men and women as essentially the same; women were less robust versions of men?

Thank you for helping to clarify.

  • Indian Policy and the Numbered Treaties affected Aboriginal women’s health and wellness?

How do you think Indian Policy and the Numbered Treaties affected Aboriginal women’s health and wellness?

Im taking a class on aboriginal women's health and wellness and this is one of our study questions. Ive been googling and getting some ideas, however i have not found a lot of material. Im hoping someone out there has some valid, input or has some references I could check out.

Because this is a women's class for Aboriginal women, I would really appreciate not getting rude comments about either party. And from the questions I assume they believe the Indian Policy and the Numbered Treaties affected Aboriginal women’s health and wellness, So Im trying to find information and sources that states it does.

    thank you

  • Questions about working out and going to the gym?

So I just started going to the gym and I do not want to over do it. So its been two weeks now, and I go first thing in the morning, 15 minutes on the elliptical and then 45 min on the treadmill, I burn approx 350 calories per visit. Is this enough? Is it going to do anything for me? Im 26 180 lbs, 5'6. 36D chest, 32 inch waist, 41 inch hips. I go to school full time, so most of my day involves sitting at a computer.

Any lil quirks I could do through out the day would be great. I have celiac disease so I do not over do the carbs, I have a sweet tooth and have cut out all my candy binges two weeks ago, I drink alcohol once a week. Not alot of red meat.

If someone really knows what their doing, I would really appreciate some help with maybe an example of a work out and meal plan that someone like me should be following
