Ppl who are parents are under extra pressure to provide for their families, depending on your color, in many countries you're treated differently (better or worse), and some countries have very restricted vs liberal policies towards the education level and type of work women are allowed to do and achieve. If you take a look at the 2009 global gender gap report, countries where women and girls get the least amount of education, have the least access to contraceptives, are also the countries where women are the poorest and have the least power economically and politically: http://www.weforum.org/en/Communities/Women%20Lead...

Take a look at the stats for the last 3 countries in the report (Yemen, Chad, and Pakistan), it's pretty dismal what opportunities both women and men have, but women seem to be faring much worse.

It seems to me that all it is asking is how various governments and the skin colour etc. of the mother in question have impacted them---pretty simple to answer.

It depends. It might be easier/tougher for a woman as a mother under some governments and skin colour.

PS (asker this isn't related to you): In a silent way----I hope YOU die in your sleep. Would spare the world your bitter, ignorant, generalizing stupidity. *Sigh*.

Haha look---poor little mind is angry and trying to call me a c*nt.... yes buddy, I got a c*nt---your point is? Come now---you *must* move beyond the whole 'I know you are, but what am I?' tactic.

Add: Hopscotch---I would disagree with you. I've taken numerous women's studies classes and---contrary to popular belief---no man-hating appeared. I'm sorry you feel that way--I won't disagree that there are distorted radicals---but I don't think it's right to tar all feminists with the same brush.

Women Studies Homework? I can TOTALLY help!

All you have to do is mention how "the patriarchy" is keeping the women down and you can expect an "A."

Warning: Do not mention how sexist it is to assume that male power is inherently negative for women (the patriarchy) and how that theory is the wrong thing to teach to young, impressionable women. Women's Studies professors won't like that very much. Keep that in mind for lessons about "masculinity" as well. Trying to change men into something they're not based on feminist theory is pretty sexist and... well... rather disgusting when you come right out and think about it... so don't mention that little tidbit either.

And... whatever you do... don't call them on their little shell game where they claim:

Masculinity and aggressive behavior is bad for women/society... so that's why we can openly discriminate against men/male power and it's not really sexism or discrimination... because men DESERVE it. Yes, they're filled with all of that "masculinity." So only after feminist theories are put into effect and feminists have repressed/altered/fixed masculinity... will women/society truly be free.

Yea, don't tell them that it's sexist and anti-male to think that way. They simply won't believe you. They truly think that if they can justify sexism with their "men are bad for reason (A) and masculinity is bad for reason (B)" ...that it's not really sexism.

So leave them to their delusions... talk about how "the patriarchy" is keeping you down, and skate away with a solid "A" in that class.

"Do you believe there is equality between females and males today?" No, there is a great deal of discrimination against men. "What is your definition of a feminist?" A member of a hate group. "How did you come to know this definition of feminist?" Through study, observation and life experience. "What one word would you use to describe most feminist?" Stupid "Do you consider yourself a feminist? why and why not?" No because I believe in equality.
