Do you think they should build the mosque in proximity of the world trade center site?
I personally believe that they shouldn't. It's nothing against Islam or anything. I believe that this is a reminder of how the buildings fell and it would just bring a very awkward and uncomfortable situation if it were created.

The problem is not the building of a mosque (and cultural centre) in itself it is the choice of date of inauguration, that is a touchy matter regarding the fellings of families of the 9/11 victims.

what people fail to realize is that when they do something, like a car bomb! It is to get attention.
They do not seriously think that is going to make the whole world have this ah haw experience and turn to being muslim. They do it to gain attention to themselves.
What would gain them more attention than building a mosque as close as possible to the world trade center bombing? That has gotten them more attention than when they threatened the cartoonist. when they demonstrated in the streets? Or anything else for that matter.
One was quoted as saying "this will make the world stand up and take notice" and it has.
If you ignore them and say fine build the mosque, knowing some home grown terrorists will probably blow it up it will be just what they want so they cannot complain about it when it happens and you and I both know it will. They will then have a reason for a jihad and be very happy.
I say ignore them.

It's a rebuild of a building damaged on 9/11.Innocent Muslims died in the towers on 9/11.How do you know the falling man wasn't Muslim?Your divisive bullshite is playing right in to the hands of the perpetrators of 9/11 at a time when Americans of all faiths and none should be standing together. Are you saying you want to divide your country just as they intended?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! What a slap in the face. If you know Islam history, they build mosques near what they consider victory sites! The muslims responsible for this will say they are trying to bring us together. Bull.
Those in NYC who approved this are insane and should lose their jobs.
NO NO NO NO NO mosque near World Trade Center. Not now, not ever.

No. How can the people who want to build this mosque NOT know it will be a slap in the face to survivors of the 911 attack?
They want to use a property that was damaged by falling debris on 911. They want to have the grand opening on the 10 year anniversary of 911. It seems like they are trying to create a controversy.
Muslims are free to build mosques anywhere in NY, or the anywhere in the US. Why does it have to be there, and why does it have to open on 911?

Yes I think so I mean Moderate Muslims are Peaceful Citizens they have done nothing wrong I think a Mosque would be perfect and a Museum too I demand a Win win Situation here.

It is, at the very least, an insensitive act. At most it is just another example of moslem triumphalism, rubbing in our faces that we can not do anything to stop them, and how they are using our own rights and freedoms against us in their on-going campaign to force us to submit to their moon god.
Rather than being sensitive to feelings of those killed at the WTC site, and tens of thousands of other New Yorkers, they endeavor to build a Super Mosque at the site, then dare to paint themselves the victims when people become upset.
The entire WTC area is sacred ground, with the bodies of our dead pulverized to dust and embedded in every surviving building in the area. We must not let these people desecrate sacred ground and mock memories of our dead.
This mosque must be stopped BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!

Thank you for your question :)
well I am a Muslim and I believe that if building a mosque near ground zero would provoke non-Muslims then it definitely should not be built at that place at all!
- linuleb7Lv 71 decade ago
Certainly ! And every year, when comes 9/11, bomb it up to commemorate the historical event, then rebuild it to celebrate again next year.

I believe the Muslim community should have the sense to realize that this is a hot-button issue and never propose it in the first place.
