What should I expect in a physical examination?

I have a new Dr. and have seen her three times. She suggests I get a physical. I am 65 years old. My last doc never did this. All she did is listen to my heart and charge my insurance $119.00. What will my new Dr. do?

IF she is a good Dr there are a number of things you can expect. Blood draw to check for a variety of diseases, a prostate exam along with a PSA (blood test for prostate cancer), she will probably take an extensive health history, , may do a testicular exam, maybe a 12 lead EKG and more depending on what the other tests find and what you tell her as part of your health history and exam. Shi will probabyl ask if you've had a colonoscopy as well. If not, you definitely need to have one. You should have had the first one at age 50. Email me if you have any questions.

If you still don't know at 65, you will never know. Expect a bend over.
