What kind of moth was it?

I'm just curious as to the species of moth I just saw. Looked like a small brown bat until I got him up close then I could see it's face.

It was brown/black with orange bands on the wings. Span of about 3-4 inches. Body diameter around an inch. Big straw like protusion for it's mouth (longer than an inch). And beady big black eyes. Felt like it weighed about 4 ounces. Oddest thing is that it wasn't attracted to lighting; stuck to the shadows (thought all moths were...)

Was it mothra's cousin? ;)

It was not a moth. It was a robot sent by aliens to probe our planet. Make sure you point its "eyes" (cameras) and "mouth" (microphone) toward you and extend whatever greetings you wish to the E.B.E. on the receiving end.
