How to set up computer to tv?
I'm tired and helpless with this project. I've been trying all day to get my computer screen to show up on my tv screen. I've google'd and searched. Nothing. I have a Dell all-in-one XPS if this helps, my graphics driver is an Intel Express Chipset. I've downloaded and updated the drive. I've tried using the S-Video cable and the component cords. I've rebooted the computer numerous times, and even checked in the BIOS to see if there were any options in there. I know the tv is compatible and the cord works because my sister hooked her laptop with the cord and tv and it worked in a matter of seconds. This is really frustrating, please let me know if anything I can do to make it work.
Also, I don't think it's recognizing my t.v. or something isn't turned on. All the cord are connected and no 2nd screen options are coming up. And yes i've udes the Fn+every combo possible, I think the Fn+8 is for Dell.

Did you hit your "FN" key then like F4? I don't have that laptop but usually to engage a separate monitor (your TV) you need to hit your "Special Function key" and the corresponding "F" key that looks like this || O || (That "O" should look like a square) ... if that doesn't work if you're using a windows OS right click on your desktop and go into your properties and click on monitor settings (I'm on a mac right now so i have no reference for names right now sorry. Just going from memory) and enable a second monitor. Make sure your cable is plug in (VGA or S-Video). Hope that helps.
Edit: Oh Okay, Sorry that didn't help. Best of luck.

What sort of cord? Maybe your computer is not compatible with that sort of cord.
Those plain VGA to TV cords are only for specific devices that support them. Your sister's computer probably does for some reason. Yours does not, because it is not standard to support them.
Have you updated the graphics drivers?
Graphics properties might have an enable TV out property, if it has a TV out.
If your TV and computer have VGA, use a VGA cable.
