Why do people like Facebook and Twitter?

Call me old fashioned but I like Myspace. I no longer use Myspace and only check it maybe once a month now. Only reason why is because nobody uses it anymore so there isn't much to do. I do use Facebook but I don't like it at all. I don't get Twitter and think that is just dumb.

It seems the things I hate about Facebook is what people love. I don't get it. If everyone just went back to Myspace, people would enjoy that more. 

Why I think Myspace is still better?

1) I love nothing more than to get creative with my profile and really express myself. Facebook fails to do that. You can't do anything with your profile and I really hate the status updates. If I change my relationship status from taken to single, I might not want it to remind everyone so people could comment on that. I'd rather just have that sit at the back of my profile and don't need people to comment or like on stuff like that. 

2) I hate all the status updates in general. I hate how everyone knows exactly what I'm up to through out the day. I don't care what everyone else is up to either. This is one thing that Myspace failed on. I remember the Myspace Bulletins that I liked a lot. Now they don't have that and are trying to be like facebook with the newsfeeds. LAME. I hate News feeds/Walls. 

3) I hate the security on Facebook. I don't like private profiles. I hate how I can't look any anyone's profile. Even with Myspace, I hated how people set their profile to private. I want everyone to see my profile as it expresses who I am. But I like to have an alias so nobody can find me. Facebook makes me use my real name and I hate that. I've tried changing my name to something fun but FB doesn't accept it unless it is my real name. I don't want to take the chances of random people finding me and I don't want to be limited to what pictures I post on the internet. 

4) On Facebook I have a variety of friends, former co-workers and relatives. Sometimes I wanna say something that is aimed toward certain people in my newsfeed. I might wanna write something funny for my friends but would piss of family members. I can't do that and I have to hold myself back. At least with Myspace, I got to choose who read what. 

5) The entertainment on Myspace is great but the entertainment on Facebook is lame. Myspace I can look up new music, videos and there are really fun things to do. But Facebook all they have are farmville games that are just BS. 

Those are the reasons why I hate Facebook and wish we could all just go back to Myspace. I wish a new social network site came out that would just make Facebook a joke. Sorry for all this anger. lol. I just needed to get this out because I don't get the enjoyment out of Facebook or Twitter. You don't need to respond, I just don't get it.

Does it really matter?

I don't listen to the country station often, because I really am not that into country.
I don't watch nickelodeon often, because I am not into teen shows.

We live in a world with free will.
And with that not one single thing can please everybody.

I don't use you twitter, but I am sure that some people use it for reasons to know what's going on amongst their friends.
I barely get on myspace anymore.  I only check it about once a month, as well.  I don't like that they have changed it so much.  I also like how you can control the creation of your profile.  But that got pretty boring fast too.
I use facebook daily because to me that's where everyone is.  I am not scared to show who I am.  But that doesn't mean I have to add my address and phone number to facebook.  I have a lot of friends from all over the United States.  And most of them use facebook.  I don't use facebook for entertainment.  I use it for socializing.  

I think it depends on what kind of person you are.  I can create my profile any way I want on myspace.  To express myself, but why.  Can't I just grab a canvas and paint a pretty picture?

I do not need to know what everyone is doing at all times.  But sometimes in a news feed.  Someone will say something they are doing.   And you will go, whoa.  I haven't been to zoo in a really long time.  I would like to go.  Oh chicken does sound good for dinner.  And the summer is getting closer to being over, I need to get to Cedar Point.

That's why I ask you this, all three are social networks.  So why frown upon people being social?
If your not really into it.  Why not turn the channel?

The one thing people do a lot is say something is popular because everybody is doing it.  But that is not true.  Everyone is doing it and that's why it's popular.

And just like you said why can't they make something to take out facebook.   Give it a year or two and it will.  People need change.  And just like myspace got old, so will facebook and twiiter.  Time changes everything.  And as everything changes so will the times.

i feel the same way . i think ppl like twitter & facebook is b.c everyone else does . so basically they just follow what others do . i think it's cause they have no life lol . but ppl who use twitter and facebook are on there for hours at a time it's like do you ever leave you computer ?  facebook is rather dull so i'm quite puzzled as to why ppl spend so much time on there and like it so much . myspace is the way to go :) and is the best way to express yourself just like you said :) . i don' think i answered your question ....... sorry lol XD . but i feel the same way as you so just know  ur not alone  . i can't wait til peeps get tired of twitter and facebook and come back to myspace . tom will be happy lol :)))

I talked with a person who has used all three Myspace, Twitter and Facebook.  She said that Facebook is the only one she has really liked.  I am old-fashioned myself and thought I would never like Facebook but it is very enjoyable to me.  I do like my privacy and do not wish to expose myself to everyone but only my friends.  It's fun to keep in touch with friends and you get to know them better.  There's things that I don't get at all on Facebook but that's because I don't enjoy it myself.
