My metal band of the day?

I rarely pick up a CD and am not able to stop listening to it. But that occurred recently when I acquired Disciples of the Unseen from Aeternam. They are a melodic death metal band from Quebec which incorporates some Symphonic and Folk elements. This is one of the better debut albums I have heard. These guys deserve some recognition.

I am familiar with this band....although not all their material.

Angel Horned: Cool song, one thing i like about Aeternam is that the growls are the deeper variety opposed to the higher vocals. Not that i dislike them, since 90% of all black metal has those higher growls, but for Melodeath, I prefer deeper. Musically they keep things interesting with some nice riffs, solos...and the drumming is above average

The Coronation Of Seth: Love the intro, I always like the accoustic style intros that sudden get aggressive...such as this song. Something about this song reminds of newer Behemoth...but not quite so brutal. I think i prefer the flow of the first song...but this is definitely solid..(i think the cleaner vocals are not so great)

Through The Eyes Of Ea: I like the atmospheric element of this song. adds a nice feel to it. the rest of the song is pretty kickass as well. Might be my favourite of the bunch

MA: overall, i've liked what i heard from this band....i own no albums, but should get on it

MA2: Does Edge of Sanity count (melodeath/prog)?

MA: Woah! This is some heavy stuff for melodeath. I like the middle easternish melodies. The growls are cool as they are quite low and really flow well. I was kind of disappointed that they mostly used clean vocals in The Coronation... when the growls would've suited the song much better. The guitar sound is great and punchy. Great band.

MA2: I'm not too well versed in melodeath but Be'lakor seem to incorporate some outer influences even though they're kind of hard to pinpoint.

    For Question number 1:

Are you referring to my views on my personal fave metal songs or are you referring to my views on the videos that you posted?

    For Question number 2:

    Melodic Death Metal?

I'd go for At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity. But if you like something that incorporates folk and prog into their Melodic Death, I'd go for Opeth.

symphonic/folk melodic death metal from Canada, what more could you possibly ask for?

wow, I can't believe I've never heard of them before, I am ashamed. this is one of the best band's I've heard in quite a while.

MQ2: Eluveitie is my all time fav. melodeth band

    other than that:

    Scar Symmetry (prog/industrial)

    Dominia (symphonic)

    The Crescents (black)

    Callenish Circle (industrial)

    Blackguard (folk)
