Why is ESPN already hyping the Cowboys and Dez Bryant?
The Cowgirls haven't done anything in the last 15 years and ESPN is hyping up the Cowgirls and predicting another Chargers vs Cowboys Superbowl. Is it just me or has the pre-season Superbowl pick been San Diego vs Dallas since 2006? Didn't Dallas get destroyed by the Vikings last season? Why are they the favorites to win the Superbowl all of a sudden?
Also now there hyping Dez Bryant to be the next Jerry Rice when he hasn't even played a NFL game yet. Also not to mention the fact he missed the entire 2009 NCAA season.
So why is ESPN hyping up the Cowboys again? They haven't proven anything despite being the favorites to win the Superbowl or at least the NFC for the last 4 seasons. For the past few years they have just been a great team on paper but haven't showed it on the field.

Maybe they're starting it earlier this year to try and cover up their massive failure of reporting Tom Brady might hold out of camp and his relationship with the Patriots organization has "chilled". Tom was seen having dinner with the Kraft's the other night after this was reported and now there's word a contract extension will get done soon. Everyone should get NFL Network if they don't already have it. They're much more reliable than ESPN. Cowgirls will fail this year again then ESPN will start up some other irrelevant story.

Hype works both ways for ESPN. If they hype up a team and the team does well, ESPN looks like they have some credibility. If they hype up a team and the team fails to live up, ESPN can run with how the team wasnt good enough and try to stir up trouble with individual players to get them to say something stupid in the media.
Its a win/win for ESPN either way. The worst thing they could do is harp on a team for being terrible and then having that team prove them wrong by winning the whole thing.

I agree and it seems ludicrous to hype the Cowboys at all. I mean on paper they look good but are an underachieving team. I couldn't believe how Minnesota manhandled the Cowboys and made Romo look like a rookie quarterback. So Romo after a disastrous finish last year is now going to lead the Cowboys to the promise land. I think it is another year that they look good on paper but do not get the job done in the end. As far as San Diego I don't think they look that good on paper and always seem to shoot themselves in the foot.
To me if Favre comes back then Minnesota is the team to beat. I am a die-hard Saints fan but the best teams in order from last year are the Vikings, Saints and Colts. It was a stroke of luck that a five yard penalty took Minnesota out of field goal position late in the game.
Why do they hype the Cowboys? There has to be some sort of monetary incentive in it for the network and who knows what that is. Also, it is a talking point in that wouldn't it be cool for the Cowboys to play in the Superbowl in their new stadium. Yes, but it isn't going to happen. I grow tired of this B.S. of America's Team. Not!

Because it's the Dallas Cowboys. ESPN would take a real ratings slump without them. Dez Bryant being suspended last year doesn't hurt either.

It's july nothing else is going on except WNBA, Golf, & baseball (which only a small percentage of people care about). They gotta talk about something new in the huge market of the NFL and since the boys are the first to report to training camp they get the most early hype.
Plus ESPN loves the cowboys

I have been under the impression that ESPN has had the cowboys in the superbowl every year this millenium...
They are hyping it up because its the off season and they have nothing better to talk about

ya see... I think that the 'boys are getting hyped because people feel like this is sort of like the Cowboys teams in the 90s... good QB with Romo, good RB with Barber (and Felix Jones and Tashard Choice), and decent WR's with Austin, Bryant (which I do agree with you on... it is a little too early to say he's the next Jerry Rice), and whoever is that other guy... the Lions reciever... also they finally won a playoff game also... I do believe that Minnesota (ugggghhhh...), New Orleans, and Green Bay are way better than Dallas also

ESPN loves the Cowboys. Last time I heard, Stuart Scott once f*cked Tony Romo

Yeah i know! It's total b.s? The Cowboys do absolutely NOTHING in the playoffs, yet they get all of the attention! They only get attention because their supposed to be "Americas Team". And the only reason why Dez Bryant gets attention is because, he's not your "ordinary rookie". Thats all just ignore it man?
