Who's better: Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson?
I would say Adrian Peterson because he is much more powerful and he can run over people.

I say Chris Johnson. Chris doesn't have to run over people because he can make people miss outright and he can run straight past them when he gets into the open field. Plus, he doesn't have Adrian Peterson's bad case of the fumblitis. AP's 3 fumbles were 3 of the reasons why the Vikings lost to the Saints in the NFC Championship (so perhaps AP isn't a clutch RB?). Chris Johnson was also able to gain 2,000 rushing yards with a worse offensive line than the line that the Vikings have.
If you are a stat man, though, than a statistically sound way to compare RBs is to compare their amount of yards per carry over their careers. Chris Johnson has averaged 5.3 yards per carry over his 2 year career playing with a worse offensive line than Minnesota's. Adrian Peterson has averaged 4.9 yards per carry in his 3 year career. Both of these are excellent...even just 4.0 yards per carry is pretty good, but even the stats don't lie about Chris Johnson having a slight edge over Adrian Peterson.

The better running back last season was Chris Johnson. This eason it will be Adrian Peterson.
CJ carried the ball almost 360 times, and there's no way he can repeat the 2000 yard season again. I still have to root for CJ because he's on my fantasy team.
Peterson really needs to address that fumbling problem. He was the one who actually costed the Vikings, not Favre. He had three fumbles in the game.
From a physical standpoint, I've never seen a more physically gifted player.

You're right Peterson is stronger, but he struggles with fumbling the ball A LOT!!! Chris Johnson is a lot faster and makes more people miss in the open field, although I'm not a big fan of the Titans, but because the NFL is all about protecting the ball on offense I gotta give my vote to Johnson.

AP is clearly more powerful and CJ is clearly more fast. now with that being said, both of these backs have the abilities to make guys miss and to break tackles. its just that AP is better at breaking tackles and CJ is better at making guys miss. Now when asking who's the better back, u have to take into account the stats and supporting cast. Yes CJ did have over 300 and something carries but he did rush for over 2000 yds with over 5 ypc (all the while running behind a mediocre O-line). while AP also had 300 and something carries with not even 1500 yds and a ypc average of less than 5 (all the while running behind an above average O-line, with a great QB to take some pressure off)...i mean, numbers dont lie. also not to mention that AP, in his second season rushed for nearly 1800 yds, with more carries than it took for CJ to reach the 2000 mark...imma end it by saying that both guys are great but, Chris Johnson is better. and i didn't even hav2 mention AP's ~ever so popular fumbling problem~

The only bad thing about Adrian Peterson's power and ability to run over people is that he fumbles on a regular basis. A running back that fumbles as often as he does is not a top back in my opinion. And I'm usually right about these things.

I read one article that Peterson has one slight edge over Johnson in size and power in www.adrian-peterson-jersey.com. Peterson is much better than Johnson if we value one running back from overall aspects. For me, Peterson is always better than Johnson.

Well the answer has got to be Peterson (for now). He is a much more proven RB than Johnson. If Johnson has a season similar to last year's then things will change.

AP is more powerful but Chris Johnson is faster...and I would say his pure speed and agility leads to more yards rather than AP's better ability to break tackles. And yes, AP fumbles a lot. I think AP is the more complete back as well...but I think CJ is better in terms of pure running.

I saw Chris Johnson play a couple of times last year. He's not very big but that doesn't mean he's easy to bring down. He can run away from people and evade them but part of what makes him so good is that breaks tackles too.
Chris Johnson.
