Writers out there...How do I write this?

Writing an article about a tour that my company organised and I want to give a list of some of the greek islands that we visited but I also want to include the reason why the islands are famous right after I mention the name of the Island. Can you have a look and let me know if this makes sense.

The extract of the article is below. Please let me know. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out what punctuation or what ever I should use. Any suggestions would be more than welcome. Thanks

------------

The next four days were spent exploring some of the most popular Greek Islands which included Mykonos- the most cosmopolitan Greek Island, Patmos, one of the most religious Islands, as this is where St. John wrote the book of Revelations, Rhodes -a popular holiday Island-, Crete, the largest of Greek Islands reputed for its magnificent mountains and rich history and Santorini, which is essentially the remnants of a volcanic eruption and the sight of the largest volcanic eruption in recorded history. The group also visiyed Kusadasi in Turkey which is reputed for being one of the most attractive cities of the Aegean.

Update:

** visited Kusadasi

Update 2:

ataaah you're a life saver. Tks for the site/sight thing. My bad ;/

The next four days were spent exploring some of the most popular Greek Islands. These islands included the cosmopolitan Mykonos; Patmos, of religious significance, where St. John wrote the book of Revelations; Rhodes, a popular vacation destination; Crete, the biggest Greek Island, renowned for its magnificent mountains and rich history; and Santorini, remnant of the largest volcanic eruption in recorded history. The group also visited Kusadasi in Turkey, one of the most beautiful cities by the Aegean Sea.

    Another approach:

The next four days were spent exploring some of the most popular Greek Islands:

    • Mykonos, the most cosmopolitan Greek Island

    • Patmos, where St. John wrote the book of Revelations

    • Rhodes, a popular holiday Island

    • Crete, the biggest Greek Island, renowned for its magnificent mountains and rich history

    • Santorini, remnant of the largest volcanic eruption in recorded history.

The group also visited Kusadasi in Turkey, one of the most beautiful cities by the Aegean Sea.

Source(s): Many years of writing and editing. Try to avoid using the same words repeatedly when once or twice will do. Semicolon (;) is used to connect lists of items that are too complex for commas. People will know that Patmos, being the place where St John wrote, is of historic/religious significance. Sight is used for vision; site is used for location sounds like you had a great trip!
