I got my ears pierced like 2 months ago and now one is swollen and red and puffy and it hurts a lot. I have been turning them and putting alcohol on them is it infected? What should I do?

that last answer wasn't too bad, but the rest sucked.
listen, everything they told you when you got them pierced was wrong. 6-8 weeks is generally how long lobes are supposed to take to heal, but i've found that, almost more often than not, they take quite a bit longer.
the best thing you can do is start doing saline soaks. go to safepiercing.org for how to do that. when you make the salt water, transfer is into a smaller glass so you can hold your lobe in the saltwater. soak it for 5 minutes, 2-3 times a day. then dip a qtip into the saline and gently wipe away any goop.
STOP USING ALCOHOL. STOP TURNING THE EAR RINGS. i know they told you to do this, but they shouldn't have. turning jewelry is damaging to new cell growth. that and the use of alcohol explains your situation.

If you have had the piercings for 2 months, they should already be healed. It usually takes about 6 weeks to heal an ear piercing. The fact that your ear is suddenly reacting to only one piercing suggests that you either bumped your ear and irritated it, or slept on it the wrong way. My suggestion would be to clean it with salt water (you can dip a Q-tip into a glass of water with some salt mixed in) each day. If it is painful, see your doctor.
If you did not hit it or sleep on it in a strange position, it is possible that your reaction is to the jewelery. You will have to wait until the swelling is down before you can change the jewelery or it will just hurt, but if your jewelery is not real gold or surgical steel, I would suggest investing in something like that so you will be less likely to have a reaction. If you have never been tested for allergies to metals, you may want to think about that if the irritation does not fade within 2 days.
To keep the swelling down, you can put an ice pack against the ear. Do not spin the earring while your ear is swollen or it will just irritate it further.

whatever you do, don't take the earrings out. that will only cause you to have more pain and a SMALLER piercing hole when you go to put them back in. The best thing you can do, just leave them in and everytime you shower, just make sure you have hot water running on your ears and use your finger to clean behind and infront. it will not take long to heal, but meanwhile they are going to be swollen and red and possibly painful. Also, check with a guardan to make sure youre not allergic to the metal that is your earring, very common but not harmful. if thats the case, just wait until they feel better and take them out and get a real earring. wont cost you too much and will be totally worth it.,

it probably is infected, but it's really easy to fix. tea tree oil on the infected ear helps or you can go to professional piercing place and buy special piercing disinfectant spray if you dont already have it. also sterlise the earrings

yes it is probably infected but don't worry it happens to a lot of people. all you have to do is clean it twice a day with rubbing alcohol and it should clear up pretty fast
