Please explain the major and minoring programs at college....? Provide examples please?
I know that the majoring thing is the in-depth one, the one you're choosing as a career, and the minoring thing is something to support the major or something else, but not as in depth....
I also know you can double major, but I'm wondering if you can double minor...
And if you can double major in both law and medicine.
Thanks in advance!

The major is your primary focus of study and the minor usually represents 5 to 7 classes in a connected field. For example, you are an English major with a minor in journalism.
The law and medicine majors can't happen. Your undergrad for law might be a Political Science or perhaps English degree and then Law School. Undergrad for medicine would be some science major and then onto medical school

The answer before me is right. You cannot actually major in medicine or law. You can go to medical or law school, but no major. Not even a "pre" law or med major. You choose whatever you want to major in then apply to law or med school. Actually, those schools like to see variety in the majors so feel free to choose whatever you want. Yes you can double minor. At my school at least (UCSD) you can have up to three minors. But if you want to do something like that, just know you're not going to graduate in four years most likely.

Well they are right. You get a degree in biology and a minor in say chemistry and get a job in medicine pharmacuticals. Or you get a major in biology and a minor in geoschemisty and get a job as a biologist in teh medical field.
Let me give you my example. I major in environmental science which is a major of geology and no minor becasue its applied to include chemistry, biology, hydrology. Its closely related to geology, civil/environmental engineering. It could be applied to law. I could easily get a BS in enviro geoscience and fairly esay double major in geology and minor chemistry without much more classes <16 credits. Which would be great on resume to have 2 BS degrees.
However if I wanted to apply it to law, I would be hard pressed. As in a geologist can consult, and recognize an environmental pollution. But in the court of law, I would be not so pursuasive as in I am educated but not a licensed like an environmental engineer. If a environmental engineer testified the same it would have more weight as an authority because they are licensed and registered. Where I would jsut be registered geologist.
I could though, get a MA in law ontop of either BS and get licsensed to practice law. And goes without saying be credible. Just as you could go to school for physical biology with a minor in say chemistry, then get an MS in law.
