A person's height is determined by the gene pool from both sides of the family. I have a grand daughter, who is only 11, and 5' 4" tall; her father is 6' 2", her uncle is 6' 4", her grand father is 6' 4" and there's also some tall relatives on her mother's side of the family.

im a naturally tall girl my self so I know where your coming from. I guess 5'9 is not the average but it very normal and you've got to embrace your tallness. Ive always found being tall is a good thing. You can be a model, go on the height restriction rides, i guess people look up to (physically) and I think tall people are atractive. Embrace your tallness and be proud! I know i am :D

Haha I'm 13 and 5'9 too!
But don't worry about it, your just growing faster than others. And if you have tall parents, that's probably why.
But if your super tall, you'll have a good chance of becoming a model! :D
And trust me, if your tall, you'll have alot more advantages than short kids.

Of course it's normal. Everyone grows at different speeds. You might be done growing and your friends might still have a lot of growing to do.

not unusual these days, probably due to all the growth hormone the farmers put in cattle and chickens, no way naturally two 5'7" parents can produce 6ft children
