Please help me name this movie!?
I know it's an older movie, it's in color.
I'm pretty sure Molly Ringwald is in it, but I'm not sure.
There's this girl who I think has some sort of mental problem or disorder or learning disability or something, her boyfriend has it too.
They go to some kind of dance where they dress up, the boy wears a dog costume and she wears this big dress, I thought it was a swan but I'm not sure.
The mom of this girl teaches her how to dance at some point.
There's this placement test of some kind in their school and the girl passes it and in her excitement says, "I love everyone," but her boyfriend, still in his costume, ends up lying down in the hallway that they're in because he didn't make it.
I know this is a very bad summary but I can't think of what this movie is!!
Thanks in advance!

Is it "The Other Sister" (1999), with Carla Tate(Juliette Lewis) and Daniel McMann(Giovanni Ribisi)?

Its called "The Other Sister"
When Carla Tate, now a young woman, is 'graduated' out of the training school where she has resided for many years because she is mentally challenged, her hope is that she will be accepted for all that she can now do for herself. But Carla's family is wealthy which permits her mother, already blinded to her daughter's rather high-functioning abilities, to try and provide for Carla beyond her needs or desires, bringing forth the inevitable confrontations... for what Carla may lack in mental ability she certainly makes up for in her insistence on being independent, even to living in her own apartment. But if this isn't enough, into the mix comes a young man, equally challenged mentally, who moves Carla beyond anyone's control.
