Is there any way to turn a pdf document into one you can edit?

I want to fill in a form that's a pdf file - we're supposed to print them out and fill them in but the printer's broken. Is there any way I can turn it into another type of document? Like a word doc?

Update:

Sew Rob - if I could change it into a Word document, and fill it in, I could email it to the person I want to send it to - no need to print.

I just tried copy and paste, it does end up unusable.

Update 2:

and I can't replace the printer here either, I'm at a drop-in Internet centre.

for extra IT training - with old computers and no printing!

Update 3:

or download any software

appreciate the ideas though!

You can buy Adobe Acrobat (but a new printer is cheaper) There's also a huge number of freeware and shareware pdf editors available.

For filling out forms, you should find you can copy and paste the form from Acrobat Reader into Word. However, some pdf documents are set up in a way to stop you doing that.

Well.... you have the following options that i know.

    1. Spend $1000 on the adobe suite, and you can edit it :)

    2. use the much smaller and cheaper (if not free and better) Foxit.

    3. Download a convert pdf to doc converter and have a 10% chance of getting a good convert.

Really, without a proper pdf editor, you need to print it.

You can use a pdf-to-Word converter programme like HelloPDF or convert it online with http://www.pdftoword.com/ and have the Word document emailed to you. Or you can simply copy and paste text into a Word file, but you might lose some formatting.

Hi, try out AnyBizSoft PDF to Word Converter. It’s FREE and performs well. It exports Word files almost exactly like original ones. What’s more, it supports converting restricted PDF files, too.

    Find it here.

This tutorial page tells you more about how to convert PDF to word.

One question. If the printer is busted and you paste the document into word, fill it all in etc, how are you still going to print it afterwards?

Or didn't you twig that one?
