Chemical hair straightening?
I have wavy hair type that requires me to style it every morning with either a curling iron or straightening iron.
This was fine when my hair was short and still getting essential oils from the scalp, but now its getting longer and I'm finding heat damage at the ends despite using a thermal protector, and deep conditioners.
So I was wondering- would chemical straightening be a good option for me? Would this process also cause damage (like bleaching my hair)? What does the process entail, and how much might I expect to pay?
RE to Jay's answer: First, I don't blowdry my hair. When I try to straighten it that way, it only ends up poofy and wavy. Also, I do use the thermal protector section-by-section already, there's still damage at the ends.

BAD idea! It's like bleaching, if it's not done right(and even sometimes when it is) it fries your hair, making it a mess. Or the straightening will work. But it's like you dye your hair, your roots will show.
There are many different kinds of chemical straightening, but all does a considerable amount of damage:/ My hair sounds a lot like yours, so I recommend Chi products and the Maxi glide flat iron. Get the dead ends cut off fairly often.
Good luck.

well it is very expensive and probley is not a good choice for you do you blowdry your hair? if so try using a blow dry lotion like th eone from redken because blowdrying damages your hair also and when straigtening it spray each section individualy before you straigeten it instead of just spraying it allover or what ever you do
