  • how much damage would chemical straightening do, after a perm?

The stylist did not listen to what I wanted at all, and gave me super tight goldylocks curls after I asked for giant 2" curls (it was my first time, and I trusted her far to much).

I have let it relax for a full week, and used the deepest conditioners and a ton of hot oil treatments, and it still looks TERRIBLE. My hair was completely virgin to start with, and seems very healthy after all that conditioning... how bad would it be to get it chemically straightened?

  • How would I say "grandfather" in Arabic?

Also: Aunt, Uncle, Grandmother, and Father.

I can find them in the Arabic alphabet, but I don't know how to pronounce that! and I need to look up books/articles too back the info, so it's hard to search in non-latin characters.

  • Good ways to drink pure Cranberry juice?

I want to drink the pure juice for this health benefits (minor UTI right now =P ), but it's so tart! what can I mix it with to make it more bearable?

I think it'd be good with diet pepsi, but drinking caffeine defeats the purpose of the benefits I want it for...

  • What's the deal with MyLife.com?

I was doing the typical "Google yourself" thing, when I came upon it. It knows who I am, where I live, and it also has my parents both registered.

I NEVER signed up for it, and I don't even think my father knows how to use the internet. What is up? It's REALLY creepy.

  • Do I need a special machine to quilt?

I have a fairly basic sewing machine. Not a high-end thing, but with a wide array of stiches and foots and whatnot.

I've been wanting to try quilting, but do I need a special machine to do it? I just feel like the process of quilting itself would be hard on a standard machine such as that. I have a walking foot...

Sorry, I know it seems like a silly question.

  • Emergency Fast-Acting Skin Care products? or make-up tips?

I have a job interview in 4 days to sell make-up. Due to the stress of not having a job, however, my skin is in shambles.

I have dry skin with a mild acne problem. Are there any fast-acting products you like? Do you have any make-up suggestions that hide acne very well, without looking too over-done?

  • Chemical hair straightening?

I have wavy hair type that requires me to style it every morning with either a curling iron or straightening iron.

This was fine when my hair was short and still getting essential oils from the scalp, but now its getting longer and I'm finding heat damage at the ends despite using a thermal protector, and deep conditioners.

So I was wondering- would chemical straightening be a good option for me? Would this process also cause damage (like bleaching my hair)? What does the process entail, and how much might I expect to pay?

  • What is the name of this Youtube Series?

My friend told me to watch a youtube series, but I forget the name....

I only watched the first two parts, and I want to watch the rest. It is a suspense/thriller series? almost horror.

It is theoretically the tapes that a film student took near a factory, but he started to see weird things. He never completed his project, and locked them in a closet. A close Friend of the student convinced him to let him publish the tapes, to which he agreed providing "he never spoke of them again". I know the first two episodes have no sound.

the First episode was just scrolling text over a drive sequence, no sound, just telling the story above.

I guess the second one was seemingly in the film students home? Or so he thinks, there is really just a bunch of frantic running in a home.

Finally the third one is some sort of driving sequence again, but I guess he had a dog with him that was irritated?

  • When were the J, P, and E texts written?

I'm writing a paper on The Flood of Genesis, and it's literary roots.

Could anyone date when the J, P, and E texts were written? Hopefully with citation?

Also, any other cool sites you have on the topic would be AMAZING. I'm focusing primarily on the Egyptian creation myth, Atrahasis, and Ziusudra.

  • Is it OK if my Essay Doesn't Have a Defined Thesis?

It is a college application essay to an honors college. The essay is a self assessment that they provided a list for ("I enjoy talking to others about books" and all that jazz).

The Intro paragraph is a narrative, and not only does a thesis statement fit well in there, but I can't seem to blanket all the topics I discuss. The intro flows into the next paragraph really well, and so do all the others. I still discuss the point of the essay, and address all necessary topics.

It's more like a story than an essay. But is that OK for a college application?

  • Indirect Statement help (English to Latin)?

As if figuring out indirect statements weren't hard enough, I have to write my own.

PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong, I know these barely even resemble a sentence....

    1. Dustin was told that Owens had been helped by Juno.

Dustin dixit Owens invit ab Juno.

    2. He was told by plebeians where his enemy was hiding.

Dustin Dixit ab plebs ubi eius inmicus condit.

Also, if you just happen to know a good website for learning indirect statements, please post it. It's utterly unnecessary for the points, of course.

  • Latin Homework Help? Did I translate right?

I need to create a Latin sentence, so here's the work I did along with what I meant....

Dustin asked Minerva for good luck

Dustin Minervum (?) forunis bona rogatur.

    Dustin will save music

    Dustin musicis servait.

    Did I do alright?

The (?) is something I'm convinced I did wrong, but if you see any other mistakes, PLEASE point them out. I'm not great at translating back into Latin.

    Thanks so much!
