I am extremely wary about this trade. Kerry Wood has not been known for his amazing pitching the past few years. Really, the only advantage he has over Chan Ho Park is his age. Chan Ho Park has a better ERA than Kerry Wood, and quite frankly, he's been terrible. And from how the numbers look, the Yankees managed to find someone worse. I try desperately to be optimistic, but I can't help but feel that this was a bad move. I truly hope that this will work out, and maybe Dave Eiland can straighten him out. But for now, I can only be cautiously optimistic at very best.

Too bad the Indians didnt still have Borowski for the Yankees to get.

Chaos, you forgot Damaso Marte. Although he has had a good year to date, he is a ticking time-bomb. The only blessing for the Yanks is the Rays still have Choate and Benoit and appear to still think they can make Major League setup met out of them.Whatever happened to Howell and Wheeler? No contender in the AL, has a complete Pen, with the exception perhaps of Texas. Tampa and the Yanks have the closer, with suspect set-up. The White Sox and Twins are the opposite (notwithstanding Capps). The Angels and Tigers don't really have either. Texas may have the best Pen, Wood might have been a good fit there as he is a Texas guy , but probably costs too much. (Note I leave out Boston as a contendor?)

I don't know if this is the best move... Wood has not been a very good closer for a while now and hasn't been consistently healthy either. He's been becoming more and more of a flyball pitcher, which doesn't translate too well in Yankee Stadium. But I hope he can do well, wherever he is (7th inning, 8th inning...). I kind of wish Chan Ho Park could have had a chance to win a World Series with the Yankees, but it is what it is, so I hope Wood can do well for us.

Bad move. Wood's been injured and ineffective this season. In my opinion, the Yankees acquired him to add balance between young arms and veterans in the bullpen and because the bullpen is predominantly young, the Yankees were desperate and there weren't many other options for veteran relievers out there, so in a sense this deal had to be done.

Ehh...I didn't really like the fact we gave up Mark Melancon for Kerry Wood. Besides, Wood is injury-prone. Hopefully, the Yankees don't pick up the option on his contract.

  • Bad move, Wood has been really bad this year for the Indians. Just another salary dump Im guessing. He could help the Yankees, but this spells disaster if you are a Yankees fan considering how horrible the bullpen is anyways.

I'm a Cubs fan & a Kerry Wood fan but this does nothing to help your bullpen...... I'm semi suicidal 2day lost 2 of my fav Cubs to the Dodgers & Wood goes to the Yankees

Chan Ho Park + Kerry Wood + Joba Chamberlain + Chad Gaudin = Formula for disaster and a lot leads being given up

I don't think the Yankees should have done this move, but that is just my opinion

I'm not really excited about this, but I think it was a good move. Maybe the Yankees can figure him out and set him straight. Considering they only gave up cash for him, we're not losing much if he struggles.

It's pretty much done. Yet another salary dump for the Indians. Solid move though, Wood can still light up the radar gun.

EDIT: To everyone who says this is a bad move, how could giving up cash considerations for a middle reliever be bad?
