Why do people buy music off iTunes?

Why do people bother spending 99 cents on a song? There are other sites that offer music by lesser-known bands at as low as 15 cents a song. And there are also other ways to get your music free, Rapidshare, Mediafire, and Bit Torrents being three easy ways to get tons of music for free. Please don't say Limewire or Frostwire....

Update:

But see, there are plenty of LEGAL ways to download the songs and/or the full albums. I mean don't you think 99 cents a song is a bit ridiculous?

probably cuz they are retards. i mean 99 cents a song is, like you said, ridiculous.i have about 500 songs on my ipod. thats about 495 euro worth of music. not many people buy music off itunes anymore but i guess some are either not aware or dont want to break the law. Either way in my eyes they are retards beacuse they could be saving a lot of money. also if they are real fans they probably want the artist to get the money for their songs and could be the reason they are buying the songs

Some people prefer not to break the law, some people like spending money, and some people just have enough money not to steal! I, myself, use iTunes, but only for buying TV shows for my iPod, etc. To get my music, I pretty much do the same thing you do, ha. I used to use Limewire, but no, not on my new computer!(; (My old computer's out in the dump somewhere, or wherever they're supposed to go! haha.)

PREACH @heffrondrive - I couldn't have said it better myself.

It's there for people who want to buy music singles, albums, games, apps, movies and shows LEGALLY. They are supporting their favourite artists. Why not? It's a great service, you should try it.
