You know that you are posting from the Philippine website, right?

http://shibas.org/ has a breeder list for you. Read everything that you can on that site. "Well Tempered" for a Shiba is VASTLY different than "well tempered" for a Lab.

YYYES I DOO!!! Sort of... I don't know them personaly, but if you go to the NSCA (National Shiba Club of America) website you can look at their breeder directory. They have to comply with a strict code of ethics that includes testing for genetic conditions, not breeding dogs known to have genetic conditions in their line, having you sign a contract to get pet quality dogs spayed/return the dog to them at ANY time if you need to get rid of it and all that responsible breeder jazz.

There's one in Tampa, FL, Green Cove Springs, FL and Thomaston, GA.

The pups will probably be around 1200-1700 based on the breeders I've been talking to. They may not have puppies NOW, but it's well worth waiting a year or two to get a healthy pup. And if you still want a Shiba by then, then you'll know it isn't an impulse WANT and you will have made a better decision about whether or not to get one.

I had a Shiba for five years as a kid. They're very dominant, dog aggressive, stubborn dogs. They're escape artists. NEVER can a Shiba be let off leash. They only do what you want if there's something in it for them and this includes coming when you use a "reliable" recall. They do best with a 8ft. TALL solid wood fence, they'll climb over chain link and easily jump and clear a 5 ft. fence. Do a TON of research before getting one, please. I hate seeing this breed go to an unprepared/uninformed home... they end up ruling the house, biting, growling, being aggressive and ultimately dumped in a shelter somewhere. They need a very specific very PREPARED owner. PLEASE do your research and make sure you can be that owner. Thank you!
