Can anyone provide documentation to prove or disprove that God gave animals souls, just as he gave man a soul?
I am grieving the death of my cat, Hootie. It would be of great comfort to know that I haven't seen her for the last time. Many people have shared their words of compassion and wisdom. However, when I have asked about Biblical proof, no one has been able to produce anything but a subjective belief. I would be interested in what this forum has to offer.

First let's clear up a misconception: Man does not HAVE a soul - Man IS a soul. So when we die we go to the same place as the animals which is the grave, until the time of the Resurrection. As for animals, I believe we will see our pets again in paradise.

Well there is no proof for it. It's the product of a fertile mind. We have reality as an example to prove away the supernatural. If there is really nothing indicating that an incorporeal soul is real, then why is it thought of? What brings the mind to think of such things that have no proof? There is a reason one thinks of these things, and without the reason of any sort of proof, it is apparent that one thinks of these things for comfort.
Case in point: "I am grieving the death of my cat, Hootie. It would be of great comfort to know that I haven't seen her for the last time."
Now ponder for a moment, if you will, the moment a body becomes incorporate with a soul. Is it at the moment of conception? It cannot be. If so how do you explain the division of a zygote to form identical twins? Do we assume that the soul divides as well?
We are just organisms, purely biological, and the idea of a soul is a creation of an overly fertile mind. That is not my subjective belief. That is objective reasoning.

Ok the bad news first- animal do not have souls. In Genisis- we read that God breathed the breath of life inot Adam & Eve - that was the spirit or soul that all humans have. Now, for the good news- If you want Hootie in Heaven with you- she/he will be there with you as a part of your reward for living by faith. See in Heaven, it is possible to have your cake and leave it too.

God breathed His own breath into Adam. It does not say that He did that to any animal. I believe that when God's breath entered man so did the soul.
There is no concrete evidence to support that animals do or do not have a soul however the Bible does say that the way to the Father is through the Son. Animals do not have the ability to accept Jesus as their Savior.

Religion is a subjective belief. No proofs for or against souls in people, animals, plants etc.

all life has a soul even plants but only humans have a spirit and when we come into this world we are born dead spiritualy romans 5:12 seperated from the life of God , but when we come to God through Jesus we are raised from our spiritual death to life with Jesus, this is what being saved means and we will never die again it is a eternal life inhearints.that Jesus give us. and he has taken away all our sins.

Humans alone are created in God's image and likeness, with an immortal soul, spiritual nature, and moral capacity. Animals are just part of the natural environment, and taking one out of its natural environment and domesticating it doesn't change that. Besides, either animals go to heaven or they don't. While seeing Hootie again is a nice sentimental thought, would you really want a heaven with every one of the trillions of rats that have ever existed? Crocodiles? Sharks? Tyrannosaurus?? And let's not forget flies, mosquitos, ticks, fleas, lice, tapeworms. They are animals too! Truth is, we can't take it with us - not our money, our antique collection, our rose garden, or our beloved pets. When they die they simply cease to exist.

lets start with PROVING that souls exist first...
but before that, we need to define what a "soul" is.
wait, but we also need to prove God's existence.
yeah it's too much work.
It might do better just to remember your cat has she was in life. That's something solid.

You need to have proof of souls existing in the first place. Which there is none.

so sorry to hear about your cat ((((HUGS)))))
I am not Christian , so cannot give you a biblical answer
I am not sure the bible tells us that animals go to heaven
but I personally believe that if we have a soul and we go to the next life ... so must animals
some animals are more humane , more compassionate than we are
