I am moving to England and need to ship my stuff freight without a minimum...?

I am moving to England and need to ship 3 bed side table boxes and a rug. I am finding that most companies are charging me their minimum even though I am below the minimum. Does anyone have any suggestion from THEIR experience of shipping from USA and UK? Thanks in advance for your help!

So, you're moving to the U.K. from the U.S., is that right?

Have you considered sending your things by way of a service like UPS? If your boxes meet the size and weight restrictions, or can be re-packed in such a way that they do, then it may be cheaper to go that way. As for furniture, unless it is an heirloom, or has significant sentimental value, then it might be worth thinking about selling your furniture at you point of origin and buying new or gently-used second-hand furniture at your destination.

    Good luck.
