A question about making alcohol..?
Alright, my friend started making his own alcohol (2 cups sugar, 1 thing fruit, and a packet of Fleishman's Quickrise highly active yeast.) like 6 days ago. Its still dirty colored, and bubbling, the balloon is kinda deflated, but not really. So hes just wondering when should it start to clear up and stop bubbling? And the jug is in his bathroom closet so its abouttt maybe 75-80 degrees because ppl take showers in there but it doesn't get wet in the closet. And everytime he takes out the jug there are like 5 little ants crawling around on it.. is that bad? its like everytime. always ants crawling on it. He kills them and then more next time. But yeah hes wondering why its taking so long..

I live in one of very few countries where it is legal to make your own alcohol at home and so we do. It normally takes 3 to 6 days for the yeast to stop working ready for boiling off. But are you just going to drink the yeasty mess?
Can I just say, that unless you do it properly, including a boil off and several filtering stages, you are going to get wicked sick on that stuff. Please be careful, that's all I'm saying.

It needs to sit undisturbed for a few more weeks...have some patience...as for the ants, no it's not bad, just pick them out when it's all done. And actually real homemade alcohol takes months to make to be strong enough to get you drunk...thats probably what you want right....your probably in your early teens trying to get drunk. But it's all good cause i don't know your parents....lol

Once you two kids accept the fact that it will taste like ****, you can drink it. It's not as if you were hoping for anything with taste.
