What is the worst season you've experienced as a fan?

2003 was the worst season I've experienced as a fan... though to be honest I don't even remember any of it! I wonder what my 11 year old self was doing... Aside from that I've been an Angel fan since I was 8 years old and this is the second worst season I've ever experienced (I'm now a college freshman I guess you can do the math :P.) As of right now the Angels are 54-53 and tied with Oakland for second place, behind the Texas Rangers.

Yes, I'm spoiled T.T

2007. We were below .500 and didn't make the playoffs! Only time we've had a losing record while I've been a fan.

I guess you and I should thank our teams for making us so spoiled and used to good teams!

2003, 2004, 2007, and 2008 all ended up in typical Cubby style. Great teams, some good enough to go to the WS, but they end up disappointing in September and October. The worst for me out of those years was 2003, even though I was only 7 and don't remember much. 2006 they had the worst record in the league. But out of all the heartbreak and terribleness, this year has been the worst. I was at the two games in Colorado recently where the first game they lost 17-2, allowed 12 runs with 2 outs including an MLB record 11 consecutive hits. Then the next day, it was 5-5 in the bottom of the 9th and the first pitch Carlos Gonzalez hit a walk-off into the 3rd deck to complete the cycle. Normally I would be freaking out mad, but I was laughing. I told myself that whatever happened the rest of the way this year, that I don't really care. I still want them to win really bad, but this season has been unbearable so I won't care as much when they lose when I would normally be pissed. And yesterday they lost 18-1. This year had been the worst.

Club: I'm a Real Madrid fan. I went to Santiago Bernabeu stadium on the day they lost 2-6 to Barcelona. That was the worst moment. The best moment was when Zidane scored that awesome volley goal against Bayer Leverkusen in the 2002 Champions League final. National team: The best moment was when Spain won the World Cup 2010. The worst moment was when Spain lost (unfairly) to South Korea in the World Cup 2002.

Lol, its funny that you mention it because 2003 was just as ugly for the Rangers. In fact, we were 25 games behind the A's back then while you guys were 19 games back. I'm so glad that Oakland's glory days are finally over.

2000 was ugly in its own capacity as well. That was the year that the Rangers finished 71-91, one after the magical 1999 season, from that point on we've missed the postseason every year. Hopefully this year's finally the year of turning a new leaf over.

Edit: Mimi, I'm going to college too!

Pirates fan. Never really experienced a good season ever, but the worst I've seen was the 2001 season when they went 62-100. But this season might give the 2001 Pirates a run for their money.

I think this year is it as a Mariners fan. I've been a fan since '77 and having a bad season is nothing new for the Mariners - but usually I expect them to suck so it doesn't seem so disappointing. But after the turnaround last year and signing Cliff Lee in the offseason it seemed they might compete for the division this year. But it was not to be....

The Entire 1990s Decade, 2006 and This year. In fact the Cubs are losing so much I'm beginning to think they may never win anything ever again.

1994 as an Expos fan. Best team the Expos ever had and the season got wiped out by the strike.

All of them prior to 2008. I never take a winning season for granted. Losing was the culture. Even last year was awesome. They didn't make the playoffs but winning seasons back-to-back was special.
