Acer Laptop not working?
My acer laptop is not working. I can log on and everything, but when I get to the desktop and click on an icon, everything but the mouse freezes. I dont know how to fix it. System Restore doesnt have any dates to restore back to. I cant access the internet, or do anything besides get to the desktop. Please could you tell me any ways to fix this? P.S. I have Vista.

2 things to try.
1) The install disk has a auto repair (couldn't hurt to try)
2) A lot of problems get fixed when rebuilding the user profile. Boot to safe mode and rename c:\user\YourUserName to c:\user\YourUserName-backup and reboot. copy over files that you want/need.

It might be getting over heated you may need a cooling pad because acers tend to overheat quickly it could also be Vista causing it you may want uninstall it to see if it's the problem .
