Mahatma Gandhi and young girls?
I was told by an Indian coworker that Mahatma Gandhi was basically a pedophile and the British were aware of it, even catered to it. Is this true?? Any answers from India please advise. I do not mean to be disrespectful, this was really told to me and I was shocked!

mahatma gandhi believed in the principle of simple Living and high thinking.
this cannot e true.he believed in sacrificing material desires.that's why he given the title of mahatma by indians.
according to indian beliefs a mahatma can never be a pedophile.
indians can never give this title to a pedophile.its against indian culture.
i can never believe this.

You have to remember different countries have different ages of conscent to sexual intercourse. Mr Ghandi was married at the age of 14. I don't think he was sexually interested in young girls. This rumour has probably started because when Ghandi lived on a commune he used to supervise the children when they swam together, they would swim naked in lake and Ghandi always watched to make sure the girls were not abused by the boys. Being surrounded by naked girls probably made some folks think he was twisted.
