What is the best people carrier to get for my family?

We have 2 adults (me and my partner), a 8 year old, 5 year old,8 month old and due next year the final baby.

We are after a spacious people carrier of 6-7 seats, doesnt cost the earth to run and has enough space to fit a double pushchair in somewhere.

We have a budget of £2000, have been looking on ad trader etc.

Any advice or help would be welcome, thankyou

Zafira would top of my list. Reliable, well built, cheap to run/cheap parts etc. They also hold their value extremely well. I'd recommend the 1.6 petrol as the 2.0 diesels occasionally throw fuel pumps out (£1,000 a time to sort out) and the 1.9 diesels have a habit of going through sensors.

The 1.6 is the best of the bunch and pretty good on fuel.

For £2000 you could get a decent-ish Galaxy, but a) get a diesel and deefinately do NOT get a 2.3 or 2.8 petrol) and b) check it over thoroughly first. The Galaxy/Alhembra/Sharan range have very brittle interior plastics and by the time they've had three or four owners (and probably had 50 kids running roit in them) they get very old/dated inside.
