Do online alarms work in sleep mode?

I lost my phone and HAVE to be up for work tomorrow and no there is no one who could wake me up. I'm hesitant to download anything so I found these online ones: onlineclock.net and clock2d.com is anyone familiar with these? Will they work if my lap top goes into sleep/hibernate mode? Will they wake-up my computer AND me?

No because too many of the necessary processes and services stop when you put your computer to sleep. You might A: you won't have internet B: may not even have sound C: Usually wake-up is specific to the computer settings, like wake-up on keyboard or mouse, the computer will only respond to those types of input.

Source(s): P.S. There's no reason to put your computer to sleep imo, just put it into a power saving mode and have the display off along with anything else you usually have running. I've never checked how much energy % my computer uses when its like that but usually when its in power saving mode and idling it uses like 30-40% with the screen on - and I'm sure that's a huge consumption, so with it off maybe 20%. Any alternatives would be better, but sleep mode - no probably not unless it was specific hardware to change the settings for wake-up and monitored the internal clock instead of one from the internet.

    Online Alarm Clock

I'm a big fan of http://onlineclock.net/ and have been using it for a long time.

You have to disable Sleep Mode for the online alarm clock to work properly, because it's just a website and it doesn't have any control over your computer itself. (And the question is: would you really want a website to have this kind of control over your computer? Usually not, to be on the safe side.)

Also, I don't know if you're using Windows or not, but if you have Windows set to automatically download and install Windows Updates, this may also automatically reboot your computer. Rebooting your computer when you have an alarm set will of course delete the alarm.

But there is a setting for Windows Updates that automatically downloads the updates BUT asks you when you want to install them. This is the preferred setting to use if you want to use an online alarm clock.

If you just follow those two points listed above, it should work well for you ;-)

Nope. Hibernate kills power from your computer and sleep pauses all programs. Turn your sound on max. Click the battery icon on your computer assuming you have a laptop. Then modify the high power option. Turn off display after 1 minute, never sleep with computer plugged in or on battery. Go to advanced power options. Processer max speed plugged in: 70%. Proccesser minimum speed plugged in: 1%. That should save you power till the alarm activates.

Source(s): I've done overnight downloads using this method.

Start > control panel > performance and maintenance > power options You'll be able to fiddle with things there and stop that pesky sleep mode. Death to the environment!

Don't you have a clock, radio, iPod, or watch that you could set to wake you up? I have a feeling that your computer might go to sleep and leave you sleeping...
