Locked ihpone. info needed?

Hi everyone, I have just paid for a 3G Iphone locked to o2 (uk)

.

Will I need an o2 Sim to boot the ihpone into the normal menu? ... if i do need a sim maybe i could still unlock it without it booting into regular menu,,,,?

I am assuming the only thing that will not work is my network until I unlock it?

to the 2nd answr. yes i AM going to jail break but can i do it without an o2 sim

    yes if it's on the emergency call mode you do need an O2 Sim to activate it to it's regular menu.But if there's no way you can get O2 theN you might need to "hacktivate" it

    I would recommend jailbreaking and unlocking your iPhone. By unlocking your iPhone, you'll be able to use it on any GSM carrier.
