How did my PC end up with 30 pages of start up items?

How can I figure out where they came from? How do I figure out what to delete?

Most likely any time you install something, it becomes a startup program. A lot of them are this way. The only way to do it is the obvious way. There's no shortcut as of now. I had this problem a few weeks ago. I can only wish you good luck. :)

Good luck! Hope this helps you.

You didn't say which OS you are using so choose from this list:

FYI unchecking things with msconfig is NOT the way to disable startup items.

    CCleaner works great.

Uncheck the ones you don't want (in msconfig). If you find you unchecked the wrong one, you can go back and recheck it.
