Blood in dogs stool? I don't think it's a parasite for several reasons?

The dog is a shih zhu bishon mix. He is fully grown. He has had runny poop with blood in it for about 2 days. Every site online said that it is probably a parasite but he isn't acting hungry and there are no worms or anything in his poop. My parents are at work and I can't drive to the vet. Should I just wait for them to get home?

Get your dog to the vet as soon as possible. Most of us here are not vets, and even if we were, we could not give an accurate diagnosis without examining the dog. Wait for your parents to get home, then have them drive your doggie to the vet. Blood in the stool could be parasites, but there are more reasons than that for your dog to have intestinal bleeding, and most of them are serious.

A parasite is about the last thing I'd consider as a cause of bloody diarrhea, except that I would consider giardia. This could be a symptom of an illness, disease, ingested foreign object, or really bad food. If he isn't vomiting and is eating his meals normally, then the bad food probably isn't it. Can you schedule an appointment with the vet for after a parent gets home?

call the vet , see if they can test the poop for you that will save you money on the vet visit, most worm will be in egg form you cant see even when you use a micro scope they can be hard to find

the dog could be dehydrated as well that would give him blood and runny poop, stay calm

    cheers

has the dog been outside? if so someone could have fed him food with gun powder in it. the dog will also get aggressive and violent if it received a lot of food. wait for your parents to get home. there are over the counter parasite remedies also.

Blood in dog feces is a very bad sign. I think you can afford to wait, but you should probably find someone to take you now. Call your vet.
