Why do some people stammer?

some people take along time to pronounce simple words and even they repeat it several times before they could make a reasonable meaning .They talk as if they have hot food in their mouths,why is this so?

    i used to stutter. it is because you want to say the word, but your mind wont let you, so you just try hard to get the word out. maybe my mind moved too fast to get it out.

    Some have a condition, some people just talk fast (like me). There's many reasons.

    its a nervous tick, like bitting your nails, you are born with it
