Question For All My Peoples From India?
Are they really called "Scooty's" in India, or are you guys just being cute about it?
I mean it's bad enough scooter riders in the U.S take so much B.S. from some people, but if I called what I ride a "scooty" I might even have to understand a little.
Say it with me my Hindu brothers and sisters...it's SCOOTER!!
lol :p
But yeah, what gives?

It's a model name given by one manufacturer to it's product, nothing more.
Before getting your tail in a twist, you should have noticed that other bikes of the same style (scooter, to you) are also called by their given names.
It seems they have not yet taken the lazy route of calling everything by the first popular brand name.
Example: Band-Aid (a selection of adhesive bandages by Johnson&Johnson)
I have no problem calling my ride a "scoot". It's a time-honored nickname.
(Yeah, I know the youngsters don't honor anything anymore - especially old stuff with meaning to others).
