Can I sell after record date of split of stock?

Say record date is closing of 12 Aug and split will take place on 23 Aug, can I sell on 16 Aug and should I get split benefit on 23 Aug?

    You neeed to know tha actual date that the split goes Ex. The record date doesn't matter: If you get the split but the buyer is entitled to it you will have to wait for the split and deliver that to the buyer. Probably easier to explain with a dividend. Say you sell C_um Dividend but don't deliver in time for the buyer to get registered before the books closed date. The buyer will be entitled to the dividend but you will receive it from the company. There would then be a market claim from the buyer to you for the cash amount of the dividend. Hope this explains it.
