Usually an idea will hit at any moment and I will write it down.

But when I'm working on a story, I like to listen to music, mostly the radio because I don't have to keep changing the music.

I like to write first drafts by hand with a pen and notebook paper. All the drafts after that I will do on my computer.

I have this incredibly comfortable couch right by a window in my family room. The window gives the best light in the early morning so I can curl up and write without having to have the lights on.

Other than that I like writing in my living room with the TV on to one of my favorite shows on DVD that I've seen a thousand times. This usually helps me get more emotional(you know like when you see something happening and you know its going to end and be just heart breaking) and more inspired.

When it's dark and stormy, definitely. Living in Hong Kong, we have a lot of typhoons here and the view is absolutely breath taking from living/kitchen area. I have a large window that stretches the whole length of the wall, over looking the cities, and it's quite peaceful to just listen to the rain and type. Perfect for my dark ramblings.

I love to write with music, dining room alone, with T.V on.
