All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.
Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.

I don't remember the exact verse, but either Leviticus or Deuteronomy forbade the Israelites from any sort of fortune-telling, including using astrology. I think it was more to distance Israel from the practices of the surrounding peoples who worshiped gods of the sky among others, but I'm not sure.
Interestingly, though, for a long time in Christian Europe astrology was a respected science, based on the old Greek principle of "as above, so below." Of course, as science advanced it was denounced as superstition, and as the Reformation advanced the verses from the Old Testament would be brought up to condemn it.

I don't necessarily believe it's evil, but I do believe it's a bunch of horse pucky and when people put all their faith into it instead of God, they're going to end up somewhere they probably don't want to be for all of eternity.
That being said, I'm a Leo and I do read the occasional horoscope.

Astrologers of ancient times were pagans, God's people were to have no dealings with pagans or their customs. Looking for omens and signs was something God forbid his people from doing, they were not to look to the stars for understanding but to God. Read Isaiah 47:12-15 and you'll maybe understand.

I can't remember the specific verse, but here's something from the ask susie part of the january susie magazine (a Christian magazine for teenage girls:
"Dear Susie:
Is it wrong to believe in horoscopes? I think it’s fun to read them. I’ve asked my friends what they think, and they look at me like I’m from a different planet.
Curious, Reno, Nev.
Dear Curious:
Satan would have a hard time getting people to follow him if he revealed all his evil. Instead, he gives us small doses of evil—over a period of time—until we’re so desensitized to it that it seems a normal part of life.
Horoscopes originate from seeking guidance from the stars—which is seeking direction from a false god. Why trust the stars when you can trust the One who made the stars?
Your direction is right. Continue looking to the heavens for guidance. But look to God—not the stars."

Astrology is a form of divination that is not permitted Christians. Stars have no influence over man.
Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch

The stars and heavens have meanings, as do the zodiac signs.
God said in the beginning Genesis 1:14 let them be for Signs and seasons and for days and years.
He did NOT say let them be for telling fortunes or worshiping the stars.
This is mostly why.

Horoscopes are the belief of the sun, moon, planets and stars. It is worship of something other than the one true God. The first commandment of God is: "Thou shall have no other gods before me". It is not part of the Christian life. We worship ONE God. God Almighty. We praise Him and worship Him. His Son, Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour, who died for our sins so that we do not have to pay the penalty of death.
Those who believe in God will have eternal life. Those who do not, such as yourself, will die and remain dead forever.

I'm not a Christian, but I want to answer this anyway: I don't think astrology is "evil," but it's stupid. There's no way the stars can predict your future or your life for you.
