As anyone had any experience with an SSD? What did you think?

Do you really notice much of a performance increase?

Is it worth the money?

Update:

'It's alright'

Sounds like I should not bother.

Have you actually used one? Some people just go by what the review sites tell them. I want to hear from someone who has actually sat in-front of a computer with one installed and used it.

the only reason too buy them is for a boot disk.

with windows 7 on one you can boot from shut down in under 5 seconds with the faster ones.

however currently the price for performance ratio is a bit off, the is alot of work going into them as currently every single computers bottleneck is the speed at which a hard disk can spin and read/write disks.

give it 6 months we should see some better priced and larger SSD
