In 2010, aren't liberals conservatives and conservatives liberals?
Think about it. Liberals want to keep the status quo: An ever-growing government, entitlement programs galore and irresponsible/reckless spending.
Conservatives (not the ones in office necessarily) want things to change. They want the markets to be relaxed. They want way less government. They want the people to be liberated from the government.
Am I right or am I right?
*Note: whether you are a liberal or not, I am right since liberals don't like to use words to their legitimate definition. Right is wrong in liberalspeak. So, I am right any which way.

You are right.
However, liberation from the government is not the liberation liberals want. They want to liberate money from the wallets of any and all who are better off than them, simple as that. That is the ONLY liberation liberals stand for.

What makes you think that all liberals are happy w/ the way things are going? We have a huge government, but the FCC does not have the authority to monitor Google, Verizon, etc., the USDA does not have the authority to shut down a "food processing plant", and the IRS does not have the authority to audit the nat'l bank. Real effective!!! And you want to give these businesses MORE power? Why don't we just get rid of the government and let Google and BP secure the border?
Source(s): You cannot blame the lack of authority on Obama b/c the Monsanto hearings and the bank bailouts were not done under his watch - ?Lv 71 decade ago
Your are defining liberals and conservatives as either the party of change or the party of status quo. I think political viewpoints on the economy or the military or immigration are what define the parties, not whether they are for change.

In general: CONSERVATIVES - believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals.
Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems.
LIBERALS - believe in governmental action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all, and that it is the duty of the State to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should be to guarantee that no one is in need. Believe that people are basically good.
Liberal policies generally emphasize the need for the government to solve people's problems. o_O

If that is the case, why are conservatives always bringing up the founding fathers and this supposed past that has never existed and their deep seated desire to return to it.
Your reasoning doesn't make any sense, when you take into consideration the constant arguments made by conservatives.

Your proverbial "conservatives" got us in the mess we are in and when you have to troubleshoot problems, at times it seems to be NOTHING THAN ANYONE LIKES.
One time, I worked in an airplane factory, somebody REALLY SCREWED UP THE WING.
Instead of junking it, we ACTUALLY SAWED THE PUPPY IN HALF.
Look, Republicans are out to bust the government and actually, my friend, they want the middle class to get smaller and smaller.
You really need to look at who really has hit America over the head.

Your rights stop where my starts. The problem is if the line in the sand isn't liked, liberals will sue until they find a judge to either re-locate the line or re-write the line, or create one where none existed.

Okay. I guess you have me figured out...for a LIBERAL--since (by your standards) I can't tell you how wrong you are or try to set the record straight on what liberals really want. (Since you like to confuse liberals with Republicans.)
But tell me something if you can: At what point--in your life--did you erase the words 'debate' and 'reality' from your everyday word vocabulary?

no. it's an election year, therefore they are vote whores one and all. They will say whatever is necessary to get votes. Trust not their words but rather review their record and vote accordingly.

Actually that's not correct. Not at all.
Conservatives are people who favor order over freedom. Consequently, they tend to support programs that favor less government and more "social order."
Liberals are people who favor freedom over order. Consequently, they tend to support programs that would probably necessitate more government (gay rights, example.).
There is no switcheroo going on.
